What is Web 2.0 ?
Web 2.0 refers to a variety of second generation applications that allow people to make their own web sites, to self-publish, create and upload video and audio files, to network and share information of various types.
Here is a selection of what I would call Web 2.0 applications that are relevant to STM publishing. The list is deliberately eclectic and may extend beyond the boundaries of what should truly be considered Web 2.0. It certainly is not complete.
I have also broken the list down into different categories. Again, this is just a first attempt and can certainly be improved upon.
Please take a look and let me know you think should be added. I will publish the updated list and categories on the LinkedIn Bullish on the Future of the Knowledge and Information Industry discussion group site in due course.
